Step 9… Healing
Blessings, Dear Friends,
Welcome to Step 9… Healing.
Where our next step invites us to journey from the Medulla Oblongata to Christ Healing Centre, the point between the eyebrows. This sacred centre, often called the Christ Centre, is a doorway to a great healing light, a light said to hold the keys to healing the unimaginable.
When we gently focus our attention on the Christ Healing centre at the point between the eyebrows, the spiritual eye while bringing to mind someone we wish to pray for, bless, or who needs healing, a powerful healing current can flow through us.
Jesus expressed this truth when he said:
“The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.”
Matthew 6:22
The Christ Healing Centre is also known as the single eye, a term used by many traditions to refer to the third eye. It is the inner point of divine perception, where the light of higher consciousness shines into the mind and body. When our attention becomes steady and unified at this centre, we open ourselves to a healing presence, a healing light that can heal, illuminate and transform our entire being.
Paramhansa Yogananda recommends that when we are praying for healing, we practice the technique below.
“Visualize and feel God’s light of wisdom and healing flowing through your spiritual eye directly into your patient’s spiritual eye. Affirm, “You are whole, for God is in you.”
Paramhansa Yogananda
And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.
Mark 6:13
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
James 5:14-15
This month, I invite you to choose three people to hold in prayer at the Christ Healing Centre. Bring their face, or the specific part of the body you feel called to bless or heal, into your awareness, and offer your prayer to Christ in whatever way feels natural and sincere for you. Do this daily and journal about your experience.

47 When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.
48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
49 The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
50 Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.

Healing Light of God
Thy perfect light is omnipresent in all my body parts. Wherever that healing light is manifest, there is perfection. I am well, for perfection is in me. Thy healing light has been shining within me, around me, but I kept the eyes of my inner perceptions closed and beheld not Thy transmuting light.
I will plunge the gaze of my faith through the window of the spiritual eye and baptize my body in the healing light of Christ Consciousness.
Heavenly Father, teach me to remember Thee in poverty or prosperity, in sickness or health, in ignorance or wisdom. Teach me to open my closed eyes of unbelief and behold Thine instantaneously healing light.

Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

The Perfect Love Between Soul and Spirit
The greatest love you can experience is in communion with God in meditation. The love between the soul and Spirit is the perfect love, the love you are all seeking. When you meditate, love grows. Millions of thrills pass through your heart. If you learn to control sex attraction and attachment to human beings; and if you strive to love all and to meditate more deeply, there will come into your life such love as you never dreamed possible.
That is the love that Krishna gave, and that Jesus Christ expressed for all of his disciples. It is the love Jesus had for Mary. Martha worked hard for the Master, but her mind was on the chores, not on him; Mary thought more of the Master himself than of her work. Because of Mary’s greater love, Jesus said of her, “Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”⁸ And on another occasion, when Mary had brought ointment to anoint the feet of Jesus, and Judas said, “Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?” Christ answered, “The poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.”⁹
He accepted Mary’s devotion, not for himself personally, but for the Spirit within him. And Mary, by anointing Jesus’ feet, was expressing her love for God. That Mary thought first to offer her love to Him who is Master of the Universe, and then to others, shows her good judgment. There is no one to whom we owe love more than to God. And there is no love sweeter than the love He gives to those who seek Him.
So why spend all your time pursuing temporary human love? Conjugal, familial, fraternal—all forms of human love have blind alleys. Divine love is the only perfect love. It is God who is playing hide and-seek in the corridors of hearts, that perchance behind lesser human loves you may find His all-satisfying love.
Therefore love God, not for His gifts, but because He is your own, and because He made you in His image; and you will find Him. If you meditate deeply, a love will come over you such as no human tongue can describe; you will know His divine love, and you will be able to give that pure love to others.
That divine love of God came over me last night. I had only a wink of sleep, so overwhelming it was. In that great flame of love I am beholding you all. Such is the love I feel for you! In your faces I see what is in your hearts.
In the consciousness of one who is immersed in the divine love of God, there is no deception, no narrowness of caste or creed, no boundaries of any kind. When you experience that divine love, you will see no difference between flower and beast, between one human being and another. You will commune with all nature, and you will love equally all mankind. Beholding but one race—the children of God, your brothers and sisters in Him—you will say to yourself: “God is my Father. I am part of His vast family of human beings. I love them, for they are all mine. I love, too, my brother sun and my sister moon, and all creatures my Father has created and in whom His life flows.”
True love is divine, and divine love is joy. The more you meditate, seeking God with a burning desire, the more you will feel that love in your heart. Then you will know that love is joy, and joy is God.

Devotion to the Supreme Lord, the fifth and last of the rules of niyama
To have devotion to the Supreme Being is essential for spiritual progress. Without devotion, one can no more advance on the path to God than one would advance on any difficult road in this world, if one had no desire to reach the journey’s goal. True devotion is not a slavish attitude. It is only an effort of the heart to lift itself up into that consciousness where Divine Love is felt and known. As with self-study (swadhyaya), where one attunes himself to those rays of light on which higher beings move and is thus able to commune with them, so also with this practice of devotion: Patanjali says that by supreme love one enters upon that ray of divine love on which the Infinite Consciousness forever dwells. Without that love, it is not possible to receive the subtle broadcastings emanating from the heart of the Infinite Silence. That is why Jesus said: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

The final niyama, Ishvara Pranidhana, invites us into the sacred act of surrender, devoting ourselves to Spirit, to God, or to the deeper intelligence that lives within all things. This devotion naturally grows slowly, through consistent practice, honest self‑inquiry, meditation, and the gentle dismantling of the ego.
Through meditation, we begin to soften. Through awareness, we begin to see. Through devotion, we open our hearts to the presence that has always been within us.
Ishvara Pranidhana isn’t about blind faith or external ritual. It’s about loosening the ego’s grip so that a wiser, quieter truth can rise to the surface. True devotion unfolds gradually, through courageous vulnerability, through the willingness to be guided, and through the recognition that we are held by something larger than our individual identity. As this devotion deepens, life begins to shift. We move through the world with a sense of meaning and purpose that isn’t dependent on circumstances. Devotion becomes the quiet flame that lights each step, reminding us that the sacred is not something we must search for outside ourselves.
When we live with devotion, the divine becomes the very essence of who we are.
Visualisation (Christ Healing Centre) by Prashanti
As we consciously align our faith, trust, and speech with the eternal words of God, let us mindfully direct our awareness towards the Christ Healing Centre, the point between the eyebrows, the spiritual eye, for a few seconds. Now focus your full attention on the image before you, focusing on the light that shines on the Christ Healing Centre.
Begin to slowly close your eyes, focusing all your attention on the Christ Healing Centre within. Feel God’s light of wisdom and healing flowing through your spiritual eye.
Now silently affirm:
“I am whole, for God is in me.” “I am whole, for God is in me.” “I am whole, for God is in me.”
Let these sacred words settle deeply into your whole body and consciousness.
Feel Christ’s healing light flowing through you, gentle, radiant, and alive. Notice how this divine healing light begins to move in soft waves up and down your spine, releasing anything that no longer serves your highest good.
In this quiet moment, return your awareness once more to the Christ Healing Centre. Feel the oil of divine anointing flowing through you, healing and renewing you in body, mind, and soul.
Breathe in Christ. Breathe out, Christ. Breathe in Christ. Breathe out, Christ. Breathe in Christ. Breathe out, Christ.
Christ declares that you are whole, that you are well, that you are healed, for Christ is within you.
Now, let us quietly and reverently affirm together the sacred words from the Psalms, from St. John, and from Paramhansa Yogananda.
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Thy perfect light is omnipresent in all my body parts. Wherever that healing light is manifest, there is perfection. I am well, for perfection is in me. Thy healing light has been shining within me, around me, but I kept the eyes of my inner perceptions closed and beheld not Thy transmuting light.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.
Aum Peace Christ Amen
