Rays of One Light: Weekly Commentaries on the Bible and The Bhagavad Gita

Jesus taught, however, that the intellect alone can never lead one to truth. Without love, indeed, there is no ultimate verity. Without fixity of purpose, born of the heart’s devotion, the intellect wanders endlessly. It cannot settle for long on anything.

As the Bhagavad Gita says in the second Chapter:

The intellects of those who lack fixity of spiritual purpose are inconstant, their interests endlessly ramified.

Whispers From Eternity

10. Demand for the Opening of the Spiritual Temple Doors Everywhere

O Father, when I was blind I found not a door which led to Thee, but now that Thou hast opened my eyes I find doors everywhere: through the hearts of flowers, through the voice of friendship, through sweet memories of all lovely experiences. Every gust of my prayer opens a new door in the vast temple of Thy presence.

Listen, and understand this through It is not what goes into a man’s mouth that makes him common or unclean. It is what comes out of a man’s mouth that makes him unclean.

We will take these meaningful words into our meditation together for deep reflection and contemplation. But firstly, we will listen to the beautiful Psalm of David, sung by Mary Kretzmann.
